Mission Statement
The mission of the Maryland Consortium for Adjunct Faculty Professional Development (MCAPD) is “to foster comprehensive and innovative adjunct faculty development to improve teaching and enhance student learning.”
Goals
- Involve two-and four-year Maryland institutions of higher education in collaborative efforts to provide professional development for all adjunct faculty (credit and noncredit.)
- Share best practices and resources for professional development for adjunct faculty and administrators of adjuncts. Topics related to recruitment, orientation, peer mentoring, workshops, and online training, etc. to be included.
- Fully communicate the work of the consortium to major stakeholders.
- Seek funding through grants and other means to support MCAPD goals.
- Assess the effectiveness of consortium’s efforts.
